However in 1995 Italian businessman Uberto Pietra revived the name and produced this "Alfa SZ based" prototype, designed by Gioacchino Acampora. This car was introduced at the Swiss International Motor Show of Geneva March 1995. The car was named "Vittoria" after Uberto's daughter.
Press release.
At 14 March 1995 there was also an article in the Italian Newspaper: "Corriere della Sera - Cronache Italiane - Motori"
The author of the article was over-excited with respect to the number of horsepower. He wrote the car had 300 hp, but actually there were measured on a dyno
254,8 HP at 5740 rpm.
Than the car has been stored for many years, gathered dust lost an original mirror and got some small damages.
In 2009 the car was still located somewhere around Milano. The car was complete but got some dents and scratches over the years. Sig. Pietra started the restoration and because of that the interior and the rear part of the glass roof, was taken out.
I had the opportunity to meet Sig. Pietra in 2009 personally and to study the Vittoria and to compare it with the SZ.
Sig. Pietra was very helpfull and shared lots of information and documentation about this unique project.
Hopefully the Vittoria will soon be restored its old glory.
To build the car, an Alfa Romeo 75 3 liter-V6 has been used. According to Sig. U. Pietra this 75 had the chassisnummer: ZAR 162B6000001386 and the car was produced at 27-11-1987.
During 1994 and a part of 1995 this 75 base was rebuilt to SZ specs with an SZ front and rear suspension ecc. The car got a stunning design with an interesting extra feature wich was a full glass roof. The car got a reworked engine, built by a company specialized in building and preparing DTM race car engines. Castagna claimed that their reworked 3.0 V6 engine produced 254,8 HP at 5740 rpm while still retaining the original single camshaft per head setup.
The brakes were uprated with Brembo 6-pot calliper, cross-drilled and vented discs, while the prototype ran on 18 inch "Tecnomagnesio" Special magnesium alloy wheels. Front: 8x18 inch and the rear wheels were 9x18 inch.

During this restoration some minor changes have been made in the interior and somehow the car lost its unique bonnet emblem with the text: "Sic itur per angusta ad augusta".
It has been replaced by a normal Alfa Romeo emblem.
